Kenyon's writings influenced Kenneth Hagin Sr., the recognized "father" of the Word of Faith movement. E W Kenyon was a Baptist Pastor who taught many aspects that would agree with Word of Faith teaching, but is not recognised by Word of Faith ministries as the 'founder' of the movement, but rather as someone whose teachings have been influential.
There is no sound evidence to substantiate this claim. Kenyon (1867–1948) is usually cited as the originator of Word of Faith teaching. The movement teaches that the salvation won by Jesus on the cross included healing and wellbeing for believers, claiming support from scripture verses such as John 10:10, 1 Peter 2:24, and Romans 10:9-10.Įvangelist E.W.
